If I mounted a reaction wheel to my back could I walk a tightrope without falling off? Would my on board inertial balance systems be in conflict with the reaction wheel? Has anyone ever tried this? I'm keen... Maybe it is a case of training oneself to trust the reaction wheel. If we fitted one to a baby could it learn to walk earlier? Let's not try that. Did you know if you spin a baby around, and then stop, their eyes keep spinning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B59KieQmfKY Maybe this is their version of a balance wheel? (Seems like the type of experiment you don't repeat too often, at least with Mum around.)
